Summer 2017: STEaM Camps
What is STEaM?
Each week the students will go through STEaM challenges to make sense of the world around them.
They will begin each activity investigating a problem, ways it has been addressed in the past, and then brainstorm some ways they could improve on the systems in place. Once the group brainstorming has taken place, students will work in groups to plan a way to improve the situation. During the planning phase, children will illustrate their ideas through sketching and diagramming. Once a plan is in place, children will begin building their models. Builds must be tested with accurate scientific documentation before the final build will be presented to their peers.
The ability to work well with others, follow directions, and think independently helps make the STEaM camp a most enjoyable experience for everyone!
